Vistancia Breaking Ground Feb. 21 on CAP Canal Bridge Representing Gateway to Vistancia’s Northern 3,450-Acres

PEORIA, Ariz. (February 11, 2013)- Vistancia will celebrate another milestone as it holds a groundbreaking ceremony Feb. 21 for the Vistancia Boulevard Bridge crossing the Central Arizona Project (CAP) canal at the base of White Peak and Twin Buttes mountains linking the master plan to its additional 3,450-acres north of the community.

Set in the natural Sonoran desert and scenic mountainous terrain, the future extension of the community will offer four lifestyle communities featuring up to 3,500 homes offering a diverse range of architectural styles and home sizes, community recreational centers, commercial space, a 900-acre mountain preserve, city parks and public schools.

Providing a passage way into the newest community at Vistancia, the distinctive design of the $5.5 million four-lane bridge – ultimately to have six lanes — embraces the character of the natural desert, anchored by stone with linear planes that will blend seamlessly into Vistancia’s Sonoran desert backdrop.

More than 900 acres of the community are planned to be donated to the City of Peoria as a natural area preserve for permanent open space.

Surrounded by higher elevations, rolling terrain and panoramic views, Vistancia’s future communities are envisioned to embrace premier desert foothills living, immersed in the spectacular Sonoran desert offering outstanding view landscapes and preservation corridors.

“The building of the Vistancia Boulevard Bridge crossing over the CAP canal marks the next phase of development for the 7,100-acre Vistancia community, representing the most unique portion of the master plan,” said Mark Hammons, vice president/general manager of Vistancia.

“We are already seeing a tremendous amount of interest from homebuilders who want to be a part of Vistancia’s future. We strongly believe in this recovering market represented by the significant investment for the master plan’s future and look forward to creating a magnificent desert-inspired community in the north,” Hammons said.

The award-winning Vistancia is one of the most successful master planned communities in the nation, recently named among the top 50 best-selling residential developments in the nation for 2012 by Irvine, Calif.-based John Burns Real Estate Consulting.

Vistancia features eight actively selling new home neighborhoods by national and regional builders offering varied designs in three unique lifestyle communities: The Village at Vistancia, a multi-generational family community filled with amenities and activities for families of all ages; Blackstone at Vistancia, a private gated golf community featuring luxury homes and custom homesites nestled amidst pristine natural desert landscapes with generous open spaces providing spectacular mountain views from every homesite; and Trilogy at Vistancia, an active adult resort community. The Vistancia Boulevard Bridge is planned to complete construction in the fall of 2013.

General contractor for the CAP Bridge is Skanska USA Civil West RMD of Phoenix. The design team is comprised of Stanley Consultants of Phoenix serving as the structural engineer/designer, and Greey/Pickett of Scottsdale is providing the finish treatments for the bridge.
