The first 370,000 square foot building was completed in 2015 and construction of the campus was fully completed in 2017.
Sunbelt Holdings partnered with Ryan Companies to design and construct the 20-acre mixed-use development project along Tempe Town Lake and adjacent to Arizona State University to serve as a regional hub of operations for State Farm Insurance, the largest provider of auto insurance in the U.S.
Construction of the 2 million square foot project began in September 2013, and included five LEED Silver Class A office towers, two stand-alone retail buildings, two above-grade parking garages and two levels of subterranean parking totaling over 8,100 parking spaces.
The project is built adjacent to a 10-acre lake-side public park and features plazas and landscaped open spaces connecting site amenities. State Farm’s corporate campus at Marina Heights has become a major employment center for greater Phoenix area with capacity for up to 11,500 employees.
Retail amenities totaling approximately 50,000 SF complement the state-of-the-art corporate center and include two stand-alone restaurants, quick grab-and-go café’s in office buildings, a Starbuck’s, Honor Health clinic and Mountainside Fitness center. Marina Heights features three main public art installations, curated by the Arizona State University Art Museum and selected from over 450 submissions from all over the world.
Throughout the development lifecycle, Marina Heights has been recognized for its excellence in development and construction, including NAIOP – Transaction of the Year (2014), Talk of the Town (2014 and 2015), Office BTS of the Year (2015 and 2016), Office TI of the Year (2015); AMCA – Project of the Year (2015); ADOSH – Sharp Accreditation (2015); NAWIC Safety Excellence Award (2016 and 2017); and Golden Nugget Grand Award – Best Commercial Project 20,000-SF & Over (2017).
